School Of Bauhaus

School Of Bauhaus

Curated by Nathaniel

Staatliches Bauhaus started as an art school in Weimar, Germany, and meant "house of construction," or "school of building." In different cities and with different directors, the school taught innovative concepts for design that emphasized an integrated and total work of art. Later, the term became shorthand for a style pioneered by teachers and students from the school. Hallmarks of this early 20th century style include simple yet bold geometric forms and lines while dispensing with unnecessary decoration or ornamentation. Bauhaus buildings are some of the most recognizable and successful examples of architecture from the modern era. This collection features home decor pieces with designs that are made to seamlessly integrate with the larger scale (and often Utopian) projects.
