The Josef Hoffmann Collection

Josef Hoffmann was an early modernist working in architecture and design. He was also a teacher, counting among his pupils Le Corbusier and Egon Schiele. Working in a number of mediums, his designs for furniture and decor items become increasingly rarefied, leading to an abstracted style that has proven perennially popular. Perhaps his most recognized piece is the Kubus chair, an example of his use of squares that led to the moniker "Square Hoffmann."
